The Valencian Community Business Confederation (CEV) expresses its concern over the ongoing disruptions affecting the high-speed rail service between the Valencian Community and Madrid. The issues recorded this Thursday, June 12, with a complete service interruption due to an electrical failure, have once again highlighted the 'fragility' of an infrastructure that should ensure 'punctuality, reliability, and safety'. 'The Community cannot be disconnected from Madrid every time an incident occurs. We need a high-speed service that meets our standards,' the institution asserts.
Once again, thousands of travellers, including many professionals, businesspeople, and freelancers, have been unable to travel, causing personal, professional, and economic setbacks. 'High-speed rail is a key tool for territorial cohesion, business activity, and the international projection of our economy. It is unacceptable for it to fail this frequently,' the organisation states.
Therefore, the CEV demands an urgent review of the infrastructure and maintenance plan from ADIF and the Ministry of Transport; rapid response protocols for emergencies and better coordination among operators; clear, timely, and accessible information for users, and, of course, investments to strengthen a strategic connection for the Valencian Community.
