The time is approaching to clarify what happened at the DomusVi residence in Alcoi at the beginning of the pandemic, where 74 elderly residents died within a month. The families are seeking answers and hope to obtain them at the trial scheduled for September 30. This comes four years after the summer of 2020, when the association of affected families unsuccessfully requested the Public Prosecutor's Office to be recognized as an injured party in the legal proceedings.
The first attempt was unsuccessful. The trial was initially scheduled for February 19, but two weeks before that date, the group received a notice from the Court of First Instance No. 3 of Alcoi informing them of a postponement. This measure was taken after the families reported that they had not received the required information, according to spokesperson José Luis García.
