The Popular Party's Pablo García Barberá became the mayor of Daya Nueva this Sunday, as a result of the power-sharing agreement between the PP and PSOE for this term. Barberá will hold the mayoral office until the end of the term.

The President of the PP in the Province of Alicante, Toni Pérez, and the Secretary General, Ana Serna, attended the inauguration of the former spokesperson of the popular group in the council and first deputy mayor. The event was also attended by other PP mayors from the Vega Baja region. The municipal corporation of Daya Nueva consists of a total of nine councillors, of which the Popular Party holds three.
