The rivalry between David Broncano and Pablo Motos not only exists among the audience. The host of 'La Revuelta' has spoken for the first time about how he is experiencing his television duel with 'El Hormiguero' and all the information surrounding his arrival on public television. In an interview with 'The Times', Broncano defends himself from politically tinged attacks and acknowledges that «it was tough when all this started: the cultural war has driven people to brutal and unscrupulous extremes,» he says. «It was a huge and very cheap lie,» he states categorically. However, the host of 'La Revuelta' recognizes that all the noise generated around his signing by TVE and his program «gave us a marketing campaign we couldn't have bought. We knew we would have a massive audience for the first show and that the challenge would be to maintain it.»
The landing of 'La Revuelta' on TVE and its duel with Antena3's 'El Hormiguero' has provoked a battle among viewers that has generated currents for and against. Something that has not gone unnoticed beyond our borders as evidenced by the fact that 'The Times' calls this battle one of «two hugely popular talk shows: Broncano's for left-wing viewers and Motos' for right-wing viewers.»

A duel with Pablo Motos and his program about which David Broncano had not spoken directly until now, calling it an «absurd» confrontation. «They, through 'El Hormiguero', were the first to say, on air, that Pedro Sánchez put me on TVE. They are contributing to polarizing the issue,» he acknowledges. «People who think Sánchez put me there don't know if I've ever voted for him,» adds the host.
«One of the things I want the program to gradually do is not seem like a battle of 'if you watch my show you are one Spain and if you watch another show you are another.' (...) In Spain there are many Spains, not two; it would be sad if it were otherwise,» he says to defend the product that has been so well received by the audience. Beyond television wars, what Broncano intends with his program is «for each day to be good comically and for there to be laughter all the time.» «It can be childish, silly or naive, but if it's fun, it's good for me.» And further insists on not politicizing or labeling 'La Revuelta' because «people (from the right) are discovering that the program is not political; now only a fanatical minority says so. They see it's good and that the guy (Broncano) isn't so bad.»
In the interview, David Broncano has to answer two questions he asks all his guests, and about his salary he tries to dodge by saying «I'm not going to tell you. Less than 14 million euros they say.» «I earn a lot, but within what a television host with this audience can earn,» he adds. And about sex? «A lot, really,» he says. «I'm one of those who lets themselves be carried away by the most primal passions,» he responds.
