The Critérium and Gran Fondo will return in October 2025. In 2024, the Critérium's return to the Valencian Community featured over 20 national and international cyclists from UCI World Tour teams, including Mathieu Van der Poel and Pablo Castrillo. Legends like Alejandro Valverde, Samuel Sánchez, and Claudio Chiappucci also participated. The event organisers have confirmed that La Nucía will once again host these prestigious cycling events, scheduled for October 18 and 19, 2025.
The weekend will be packed with cycling activities for all audiences. On Saturday, October 18, the Critérium will kick off with an exciting show for cycling fans, featuring teams and professional cyclists to be announced in the coming months. A day later, on October 19, the second edition of the Gran Fondo La Nucía will take place on a circuit that will leave all participants in awe.
Registrations for the Gran Fondo La Nucía are now open on the event's website. However, details of the route and parallel activities will be revealed soon. Additionally, the Critérium and Gran Fondo La Nucía will feature other surprises that will astonish both participants and cycling enthusiasts.
The event director and former professional cyclist, Javier Castellar, has assured that his team is working on securing top-level professional cyclists. "Top-level cyclists, whom fans would not expect, will compete. Therefore, the 2025 Critérium will be an unprecedented event."

An even more complete and thrilling experience is anticipated, with initiatives that will establish the event as an unmissable date on the cycling calendar. "We will share all the new developments we have prepared in the coming months on the event's official channels," it was added.
Thanks to the organisation of sporting events, La Nucía has established itself as a national cycling reference. In 2024, more than 20 professional cyclists and over 1,500 amateurs gathered at the Camilo Cano Sports City, boosting tourism and the local economy. This success has been key for the return of the Critérium and Gran Fondo in 2025. The goal is to strengthen the municipality's commitment to sport and the promotion of its natural environment and culture.
