According to a study conducted by Nissan, 69% of Spaniards admit to having been distracted while driving with children in the car. Between the fallen pacifier, the missing toy, and the incessant crying, driving becomes a task of patience and concentration.
These distractions directly impact road safety. The stress caused can result in sudden lane changes, hands leaving the wheel to reach for something in the back, or even running red lights.
According to an analysis by BP, Castrol, and RACE, 51% of Spanish drivers admit their driving becomes more aggressive when stressed, and with our loved ones on board, negligence is not an option.
Moreover, traveling with a newborn adds an extra layer of stress, and the first journey home is no exception.
Being a parent doesn't come with a manual, especially when driving. Aware of the challenges of parenthood, Parclick is committed to helping reduce the risk of accidents, which can increase by 28% when stress is involved, by offering practical advice for safer travel.
Recommendations include planning strategic stops for children to stretch their legs, having an emergency kit with toys or snacks to distract them, scheduling travel during times of the day when they are calmer, such as early morning or after meals, and, above all, reserving parking in advance to drive with the peace of mind of not having to spend an extra minute with crying children (and even parents) in the car upon reaching your destination.
In this context, Parclick will reward the first 30 parents who prove their baby was born between February 1 and 28, 2025, with 100 euros of free parking. Additionally, all parents who register [HERE] will receive a sticker with the phrase: "Driver and baby on the verge of tears"; an ironic reminder that babies and cars do not make a good "match."
