Teatro Principal in Alicante is fully committed to supporting the victims and those affected by the DANA in Valencia. The theatre has organised a cultural solidarity marathon to raise funds for this cause.
Under the motto 'United by Culture, United for Valencia', the event will gather numerous artists on 15th December, offering a surge of performances to demonstrate the sector's commitment to solidarity and support for those in need during challenging times, explained its deputy director, María Dolores Padilla.
This cultural solidarity marathon will take place throughout the day, divided into four performance blocks, featuring music, performing arts, and illusion shows.
Tickets will be available from Thursday, 21st November, on the Teatro Principal's website and box office, with various pricing options. Individual entry to a single show is priced at 15 euros, morning or afternoon passes for two blocks at 25 euros, and a full pass at 40 euros. Additionally, a zero row will be enabled and all proceeds will go to those affected by the DANA.
First Block – 10:30 AM
The Alicante Municipal Band, led by Pedro Lara, will take the stage at Teatro Principal alongside the Alicante Lyric Company and the José Soriano Dance Company. During the performance, a collection of the most iconic Spanish lyrical romances will be interpreted.
Second Block – 12:30 PM
Artists from around the world will grace the stage at Teatro Principal to offer a unique show where both young and old can enjoy themselves.
Featuring Manolo Costa and Mindanguillo; Ximo Ilusionista and Pierpaolo Laconi. Students from the European School of Alicante, in collaboration with Upstage, will also perform songs composed by West End musical theatre director, Corin Buckeridge.
The session will continue with performances by Payasospital and ClownDestino, presenting the show 'Bombilla y Protona' to energise this block before concluding with two musical numbers from 'Plüvia'.
Third Block – 5:30 PM
The Youth Orchestra of the Province of Alicante will present a repertoire featuring works by Schubert, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov, with the participation of 85 musicians.
Fourth Block – 7:30 PM
The final block of the cultural solidarity marathon at Teatro Principal in Alicante will offer a grand concert where musicians and groups from various styles will unite their voices and talents to convey a message of hope.
Participants include: Verónica Rubio (cello) and V. Ruiz/D. González (piano); Big Band Casa Sofía, Mailers, Gandia&Catellacci, Daniel Catalá-Bloom, Magistrum with tenor José Luis Luri and guests Antonio Serrano and Carla Vallet; and the Choir of Teatro Principal in Alicante.
