Cristina Guillén Roque: "The Bonfires are an Alicante tradition that showcase culture and roots"

Cristina Guillén Roque is a born foguerer. Her festive history reveals roles such as 'mini bellea', lady of honour, and children's bellea. Last year, she represented her district, Barri Sant Agustí. In these weeks, she walks the path as a candidate for bellea del foc of Alicante.

This Alicante native feels the city's official festivals, les Fogueres, as "one of the most beautiful and special traditions of Alicante, showcasing culture and roots." Her favourite events include the plantà, which she experiences with her fellow foguerers, and the flower offering to Alicante's patron, the Virgin of Remedio.

Throughout her career and festive journey, she has accumulated numerous memories. Among them, an anecdote stands out from when she was a children's bellea. "During the despertà, all the musicians came to my house and made me the happiest person in the world."
