The Court of Instruction number two in Torrevieja, acting as duty court, has granted bail with precautionary measures for the man arrested last Tuesday, January 7th, for the murder of a Northern Irish citizen in Rojales.
The 32-year-old man was arrested by the Civil Guard following the grim discovery of the body, in an advanced state of decomposition, of this British citizen, who had been missing since December 18th, the date he was supposed to fly back to his country.
Thus, the magistrate currently charges him with complicity in homicide and has imposed precautionary measures such as bi-weekly court appearances, passport confiscation, and a ban on leaving Spain.
This court will now continue with the proceedings to fully clarify the facts.

Last Tuesday, the body of John George was found in Rojales, a 37-year-old Northern Irish citizen who had been missing since December 18th. His last contact with his family was on December 14th, but he did not return to his country on the scheduled day.
The family's lawyer, Kevin Winters, told BBC News on the same Tuesday that the missing man's father received a call from "the Spanish police" around 5 p.m. - one hour less than in Spain - to report the discovery of George's body.
The man travelled to Alicante a few weeks ago to search for his son, without success. According to the British newspaper, the family is "relieved by this latest news, which ends an extremely tortuous search for the body."
