The Civil Guard has arrested a couple for vehicle thefts and car break-ins in Crevillent, Ibi, and Ollería, in Valencia. The man is believed to be the main perpetrator, while his girlfriend is accused of being an accomplice and concealing the crimes.

According to the Civil Guard, they are suspected of committing up to around fifty thefts, including four motor vehicle thefts, 38 car break-ins, and seven alleged acts of vandalism. These crimes were committed between last November and the first week of April.

The investigation began after a rise in car thefts and break-ins was noticed in Crevillent. The Civil Guard's Investigation Area in the town started inquiries to identify the possible culprits.

Investigators found that the crimes were mostly committed at night in the urban area of Crevillent, with up to six thefts occurring in a single night. By breaking the driver's window, the perpetrators accessed the cars, stealing valuables and, on occasion, the vehicles themselves if they could manage it.

As the investigation progressed, the Civil Guard located one of the stolen vehicles in Ibi, prompting collaboration between the Civil Guard teams in Crevillent and Ibi. They focused their suspicions on a resident of Ibi, whose girlfriend lives in Crevillent.

After gathering sufficient evidence, on April 9, the Civil Guard arrested the two suspects in Crevillent: a 24-year-old man and his 20-year-old girlfriend, both Spanish. The man is charged with 38 car break-ins and the theft of four motor vehicles (three cars and a motorcycle, all high-end), along with seven acts of vandalism. The woman was arrested as an accomplice and for concealing the crimes.

The crimes were committed in Crevillent and Ibi (Alicante) and Ollería (Valencia) between November 2024 and April 2025. In Ollería, the perpetrator stole a high-end car on March 17, which was recovered by the Civil Guard in Crevillent. The last crime occurred in Ibi on the night of April 4, involving the theft of a motorcycle, which was also recovered by the Civil Guard that same day in Crevillent.

After being investigated, the woman was released. The man was brought before the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 in Elche on the morning of Friday, April 10, and was released with charges.
