The Minister of Justice, Salomé Pradas, urgently requested the Central Government to incorporate 4,000 units of the National Police and the Civil Guard to "ensure public order" as a consequence of the DANA.

She informed the Ministry of the Interior this Monday after the first meeting of the Immediate Response Group of the Generalitat's Interior, where Pradas met with Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska to discuss various security issues in the area affected by the DANA.

Thus, the minister requested in this first meeting that the Ministry provide the most affected areas by the storm with reinforcements of National Police and Civil Guard units to "ensure order." Specifically, about 4,000 officers have been demanded. Additionally, other material resources have been requested to help search for victims or for night surveillance, such as the 500 drones requested by the Ministry of Justice.

Another measure proposed by Justice and Interior was to urgently complete the staff of the Autonomous Police, which currently has 140 vacancies. Pradas urges this incorporation of new police officers to be able to perform their duties.

In the meeting, the minister insisted to Marlaska on the need for police reinforcement, so she requested the authorization of service commissions for those National Police and Civil Guard officers who voluntarily want to serve in the Community. Additionally, another exemption for the Local Police of the municipalities in the autonomous territory has been added, so they can move to others in the province of Valencia that are affected by the DANA.

Thus, the last measure agreed upon by both parties is to provide off-road vehicles to the affected municipalities so that the police and security forces can serve "under adequate conditions." A request that comes after a large part of the vehicle fleet was rendered unusable in these populations by the DANA.

Another proposal was to establish a unique transmission network, with different channels, to ensure that the entire police force is permanently communicated.
