Council Members Attend Mascletà Without President Mazón

On June 22, the mascletà fired by the Mediterranean pyrotechnics turned the asphalt of Luceros into a parade of Council officials. This Sunday, the Generalitat government made a full appearance with at least three councillors and several high-ranking officials, marking the largest presence since the displays began. However, President Mazón, who attended the first show on the 18th, has not returned to Luceros square.

The Minister of Environment, Infrastructure and Territory, Vicente Martínez Mus, and the Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Marian Cano, joined one of the regulars this year at the Hogueras 2025 mascletàs, the Minister of Education, Universities and Employment, José Antonio Rovira. Additionally, the Secretary of Environment and Territory, Raúl Mérida, also attended.

The high temperatures this Sunday discouraged political participation in this Luceros mascletà. In fact, only the councillors from the Alicante City Council attended from both PSOE and Vox. However, Compromís and Esquerra Unida-Podem did not attend the display.

A major political turnout is expected between June 23 and 24, with the presence of regional and national deputies from parties such as Vox and PSOE.

The Valencian singer Tacho did not want to miss the Alicante mascletà. The musician, who has written the unofficial anthem of the Hogueras 2025 with his modern and unique style, enjoyed the fifth display from the front rows of Luceros square.

The festivals of the Valencian Community also attended to share the mascletà with the belleas del foc, Adriana Vico and Valentina Tárraga, and their court of honour. The fallera mayor of Valencia and the queen of the Magdalena of Castellón enjoyed the display in Luceros.
