The Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (Ivace+i), dependent on the Department of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, led by Nuria Montes, has granted a batch of aids worth 1.5 million euros to support the implementation of 406 renewable energy projects for thermal use in the residential sector.

Thanks to these aids, as explained by the Director General of Energy and Mines, Manuel Argüelles, "more than a thousand tons of carbon dioxide can be avoided annually." This is the fifth batch of aids approved by Ivace+i Energy, within the framework of this Next Generation Funds program, which has a total budget of 10.6 million euros.

For Argüelles, it is "fundamental" to promote the path to decarbonization in all sectors of society; with aids both for companies, where sustainability has become "a fundamental pillar that also clearly enhances their competitiveness" and for individuals, "facilitating the incorporation of clean non-polluting technologies to meet their thermal energy needs."

The director has highlighted the Council's commitment to decarbonizing the economy and energy autonomy which, in his opinion, "is strategic," since the transition to a carbon-neutral economy "is urgent" and that urgency "must be compatible with good development of renewables in the territory, from an environmental, social and economic point of view."

Cinco millones ya concedidos

To date, Ivace+i Energy has allocated 4.9 million euros to financially support 1,241 initiatives of this type, of which 651 are located in the province of Valencia, 368 in Alicante and the remaining 222 in the province of Castellón.

The implementation of these projects will generate an induced investment exceeding 14 million euros and the generation of energy through non-polluting renewable energy sources will reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 3,300 tons each year.

It should be remembered that Ivace+i Energy subsidizes those projects that include the use of solar thermal energy, geothermal energy, aerothermal energy, hydrothermal energy and biomass. Among the subsidized actions are thermal applications for cold and/or heat production in buildings: sanitary hot water, heating, cooling and swimming pool air conditioning.
