The Costa Blanca Tourist Board is participating from today, August 27, until the 29th of this month, in a workshop specialized in conference tourism in Norway. The event, named ANTOR Norway Regional Roadshow, takes place in the three most important cities of the country: Bergen, Trondheim, and Oslo.
In this event, all participants have a space to develop a schedule of pre-arranged meetings with buyers and suppliers from the meetings tourism sector and the incentive industry. The aim of this initiative is to exchange opinions and business opportunities for their companies or cities.
The president of the Alicante Provincial Council and the Costa Blanca Provincial Tourism Board, Toni Pérez, stated that "during the fair, to which our technicians have attended jointly with VisitBenidorm to project a broader vision of the province regarding our offer, we will have the opportunity to meet with Norwegian companies from the MICE sector - meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions."
"This promotional action is very interesting for the Costa Blanca given the good air connections of the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport with the Nordic country," Pérez specified. During the summer season, that is, from May to October, 332,210 visitors are expected, representing an increase of 9.8% compared to the same period last year. Additionally, this also implies a total of 1,825 flights, a figure that represents an increase of 8.6% compared to the same months in 2023.
Currently, three major airlines connect with the Alicante airport terminal, namely Norwegian, Ryanair, and SAS, which operate from the cities of Aalesund, Bergen, Haugesund, Oslo, Stavanger, Trondheim, and Kristiansand. This makes the province an ideal place for this type of non-leisure tourism.
