The Consumption Vouchers return to Sant Joan with a hundred shops participating in the campaign

The 2024 Consumption Voucher of Sant Joan d'Alacant is starting. The new campaign to support local businesses and commerce will generate over half a million euros in sales in the coming days. Directly, the local economy will receive an injection of 573,922 euros, half of which, 286,961 euros, is provided by the Alicante Provincial Council, and the other half by the campaign users who can purchase products at half price. Indirectly, with this consumption stimulus, merchants can increase their sales thanks to the aid granted by the Sant Joan d'Alacant City Council and the Provincial Council.

To present the features of the new campaign, a press conference was held this morning with the participation of the Councilor for Economic Development, Charo Tomás, and the Councilor for Commerce, Manuel Nieto. Charo Tomás commented that "the campaign will start on October 30, both for acquiring vouchers and for making purchases. Companies are already registering, and more companies are joining as the categories have been opened for participation.

The recruitment campaign being carried out by Facpyme, the company awarded the management of the campaign, is allowing the Consumption Voucher to reach more businesses. We are eager for the Consumption Voucher to become a reality, and it already is, as it will be a reality that more than a million euros of business will be generated in the economy of Sant Joan," assured the councilor.

For his part, Manuel Nieto highlighted "the extended period available for making purchases, during dates that are slow for local commerce, making the Consumption Voucher a very important incentive. Additionally, within the stipulated period, until December 1, purchases can be made during the Black Friday campaign, a period in which sales are increasingly growing," indicated the councilor.

Likewise, as Nieto recalled, these days coincide with the Local Commerce Day, set for October 25, a celebration that the Department of Commerce has supported with the printing of 5,000 raffia bags, distributed among local businesses, to promote sales and support small local businesses.

From Wednesday, October 30 to Sunday, December 1, citizens can take advantage of this discount campaign in local shops, through which buyers acquire products or services at half price. In this edition of the Consumption Voucher, a hundred shops participate, in addition to hospitality businesses and companies offering professional services, a number that can still grow as businesses can continue to join the campaign. Additionally, the categories of businesses that can benefit from the Consumption Voucher have been expanded. For example, parapharmacy products sold in pharmacies can be purchased, where obviously no medications are dispensed "paid" with the Consumption Voucher.

Vouchers can be acquired both online and in person. From October 30 until the vouchers run out, each person, with their ID, can download a series of vouchers worth 10, 50, or 100 euros from the website www.santjoanbonoconsumo.es, of which they pay half the amount, that is, 5, 25, or 50 euros. In this way, if you acquire a 100-euro voucher, you pay 50, and the other 50 euros are provided by the City Council thanks to the Provincial Council's subsidy.

To help reduce the digital divide, on Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday, October 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Facpyme staff will be present at the ADL offices located on the ground floor of the Sant Joan d'Alacant City Hall building (with access via Avenida La Rambla) to assist people who cannot acquire vouchers through digital tools, either due to their age - for those over 65 years old - or lack of access to technological means.

Each voucher will be redeemable in a single purchase, meaning a voucher cannot be redeemed in two different purchases. However, as a novelty, this year the possibility of combining different vouchers - regardless of their amount - to pay for a single purchase in the same store is maintained. Vouchers are acquired through an online platform, so a payment card must be used.

Each person can acquire a maximum of vouchers worth 400 euros per ID, of which a maximum of 200 euros will be paid by the consumer, which can be redeemed between October 30 and December 1, both included, in the shops and service and hospitality companies that have joined the program. The amount of vouchers not consumed during the campaign period will not be refunded, nor the difference between the purchase price and the voucher value.

The Sant Joan Consumption Voucher can be acquired by anyone, whether or not they are a resident of the municipality of Sant Joan d'Alacant. On the website www.santjoabonoconsumo.es, all the information can be found, along with the list of shops and companies participating in the campaign. The management of the campaign is awarded to Facpyme, and there is also collaboration with the Sant Joan Merchants Association.
