The Generalitat has presented its ambitious plan to relaunch the Comunitat's industry. The Consell will invest around 2 billion euros from the budgets over the next four years to increase the sector's share of regional GDP from the current 14.8% to the target of 20%.
This was explained during the presentation of the Reindustrialization Strategy of the Comunitat Valenciana 2024-2028, which was attended by the Minister of Industry, Nuria Montes, the president of the Valencian Business Confederation (CEV), Salvador Navarro, the general secretary of UGT-PV, Ismael Sáez, and the general secretary of CCOO-PV, Ana García.
The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, assured that the goal is "to promote a modern, competitive and innovative industrial fabric," so they will actively work with companies, associations, and institutions to achieve it. The Consell states that the 2 billion euros in investments will translate into induced private investment "of more than 10 billion euros" during the legislature.
This is added to other ambitious points, such as the creation of the Industrial Land Promotion Hub, one of Mazón's government's pillars to increase industrial land by up to 10 million square meters over the next six years. This will be accompanied by improvements in key infrastructures such as the Vega Baja Highway while calling on the Government for others such as the Mediterranean Corridor or expanding Alicante-Elche airport.

Thus, the plan will start rolling in the coming days when the Consell begins granting about 48.5 million euros in aid to more than 780 industrial SMEs in Comunitat so they can "invest in tangible and intangible assets and modernize their production lines." This aid will result in a total investment for companies of 166.5 million euros and will favor "the maintenance of 22,000 jobs," Mazón assured.
Another prominent point of the new strategy defined by Generalitat concerns sustainability and "energy sovereignty in the territory." In this regard, Mazón announced that they would present Comunitat's Comprehensive Energy Master Plan, which will group all action plans to achieve this goal. The first major objective is "to achieve 6,000 megawatts of photovoltaic power and 4,000 megawatts of wind power," emphasized the president.
Among other points discussed during Generalitat's ambitious plan presentation are clusters and business groups, which will play a crucial role in reindustrialization strategy. The Consell states that they will "arbitrate mechanisms that facilitate collaboration between SMEs, research centers, and universities," adding new innovation agents and boosting training offerings to increase "qualified jobs in the sector by 10%," admits the president.
Mazón also emphasized Consell's commitment to "generate a positive impact on regional economy and help SMEs develop technology." Thus, they will launch Turnkey CPI Project where Generalitat will act as first buyer of innovative solutions to support companies from initial idea to real prototype financing.
Other initiatives considered include internationalization with more than 250 actions during legislature benefiting over 8,000 companies thus increasing presence in global markets and adding exporting companies. For this purpose Generalitat commits to eliminate "20% bureaucratic procedures for industrial projects."
