The Consell approves the resignation of the UA rector to run for re-election

The Consell has approved the dismissal of Amparo Navarro Faure as rector of the University of Alicante. The dismissal comes after the rector's resignation to run for re-election for the mentioned single-person position.

The Electoral Regulations of the University of Alicante establish in article 35 that it is a cause for exclusion, among others, to hold a single-person government position established in the Statute of the University of Alicante at the time of submitting the candidacy.

On the other hand, the Statutes of the University of Alicante indicate, in their article 47.1, that "in case of dismissal due to running for re-election for the same position by those who hold single-person elective positions, their functions will be assumed by the corresponding body according to the provisions of said Statute".
