Conflicts in classrooms are on the rise, making the work of teachers increasingly complex. This is the reality highlighted in the report by the teachers' ombudsman, prepared by the ANPE Comunitat Valenciana union with data from the 2023-24 academic year. The document serves as a call to action for public authorities in response to the gradual loss of authority that educators are experiencing in classrooms.
"Teachers feel overwhelmed and lack the necessary tools to effectively address these situations," states the union, whose leaders urge relevant institutions to work towards defending teachers' authority.

Data from the 2023/24 academic year indicates an increase in conflicts with parents, with 62.5% of teachers who sought ANPE's defense service reporting such situations. It is also notable that 75% of classroom conflicts occurred at secondary education levels.
Most problematic scenarios involve false accusations, as noted in the report, followed by issues arising from not applying internal regulations or regional coexistence policies (87.5%), and bullying (62.5%). Additionally, more than a third of teachers (37.5%) feel unsupported by the Administration.
Regarding personal consequences, among the cases handled by ANPE, there has been a decrease in the number of teachers reporting anxiety (62.5%), but an increase in those suffering from depression (6.3%). The percentage of teachers taking temporary disability leave for these reasons has also risen (31.3%).
ANPE acknowledges that the number of assistance requests to their defense service has decreased compared to the previous year. However, advisory actions (81.3%), legal assistance (56.3%), and support (75%) have increased compared to the previous academic year.
In a situational analysis, the ANPE report acknowledges that the advent of new technologies "has also transformed classroom dynamics and relationships between students and teachers," attributing them to becoming "catalysts of conflict, bullying situations, misunderstandings, and the spread of rumours."
