Kia has strengthened its commitment to electric mobility with the introduction of two new models aimed at expanding its market and offering attractive options for consumers.
The EV4 is a versatile and athletic electric sedan and hatchback, designed for urban use and long journeys, while the Concept EV2 is a B-segment electric SUV.
Versatile and practical, the EV4 is a multi-purpose and athletic vehicle, conceived to navigate cities and cross continents. It is Kia's first fully electric sedan (four-door) and hatchback (five-door). Launched to redefine the C-segment with sedan and hatchback body styles, the Kia EV4 represents a fresh approach to the sector's traditional aesthetics.
The EV4, as a key model, also expands Kia's renowned range of electric vehicles and appeals to the 'early majority' customer segment. It promotes the adoption of electric vehicles through a combination of practical and innovative design, technological reliability, and flexible use, capable of meeting a wide range of customer needs.
Based on Kia's 400 V global modular electric platform (E-GMP), both variants of the Kia EV4 offer the advantages of a standard battery (58.3 kWh) or an extended range battery (81.4 kWh). They power a 150 kW front-positioned motor. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is achieved in 7.4 and 7.7 seconds, respectively, with a top speed of 170 km/h for both variants.
As with all Kia electric vehicles, these features are meticulously balanced with efficiency to ensure maximum range. A series of aerodynamic improvements, such as full underbody cladding, help smooth airflow under the vehicle, resulting in an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.23.
This allows the EV4 sedan to provide a range of 430 km with the standard battery and 630 km with the extended range, leading its class. In the WLTP cycle, the EV4 hatchback achieves a range of 590 km when fully charged.
Charging from 10 to 80% capacity can be done in just 31 minutes. The EV4 is equipped with an 11 kW charger that accepts both single-phase and three-phase inputs.
The exceptional electric capability of the EV4 can also be utilised outside the vehicle thanks to the 3.6 kVA vehicle-to-load (V2L) function for indoor and outdoor use, as well as the 10 kVA vehicle-to-grid (V2G) function. Whether powering electronic devices on a camping trip or maintaining energy for key household devices during a blackout, the EV4's versatility and flexibility can assist users both inside and outside the car.
The power outlet is located on the front fender, enhancing accessibility and flexibility of the process, while a newly designed visible level indicator adds convenience.
The front suspension assembly consists of a special MacPherson strut design for electric vehicles. At the rear, there is a multi-link setup with an integrated coil spring and damper assembly. For the first time in this category, the third generation of frequency-sensitive dampers 'SFD3' is implemented. Along with Hydro G bearings, the chassis technologies reduce noise and vibrations, as well as improve ride comfort.
Improved front-wheel drive geometry and advanced frame structures at key points further enhance cornering stability and dynamic response. There is up to a 50% reduction in steering deviation over bumps, for a more direct and enjoyable driving experience.
With 12.3-inch (31 cm), 5.3-inch (13.5 cm), and 12.3-inch (31 cm) screens, the EV4's 30-inch panoramic monitor connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) sets class-leading standards for onboard entertainment. Recently introduced by Kia, the OTA remote update allows customers to perform updates via their mobile phones and seamlessly connect with their vehicles. Additionally, this innovative connectivity feature also enables the adoption of new screen designs, such as NBA and Disney-related content, to personalise the vehicle.
Kia's AI assistant leverages machine learning to continuously improve the accuracy of voice recognition response, strengthening connections between the EV4 and external information systems to offer a more satisfying user experience.
The EV4 sedan will be produced at Kia's Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO plant in Korea, while the hatchback model will be produced solely in Slovakia, primarily targeting sales in Europe. Production will begin in mid-March for the Korean model, with the hatchback EV4, which will only be sold in Europe, starting in the second half of the year. Production for North America and other regions is projected for the end of the year.
The Kia EV4 is expected to go on sale in the Korean market from March and launch in Europe in the second half of the year. Sales in the United States will follow later.
The Concept EV2, on the other hand, is a B-segment electric SUV. It is a preview of an upcoming production model that will allow users to experience urban spaces in new and more intense ways. Both vehicles are aimed at lifestyle-driven buyers eager to embrace new technologies. Ultimately, these vehicles enhance productivity and open up new possibilities, as well as promote smart consumption.
The Concept EV2 is instantly recognisable as part of the Kia EV family, and its clean design projects a unique and determined character. The front features a technical fascia framed by vertical daytime running lights (DRL), conveying a strong sense of modernity, dynamism, and adventure spirit. Kia's Star Map lighting signature presents an open lamp design without a cover glass, creating a striking visual impact.
Despite its compact and city-friendly dimensions, the Concept EV2's upright stance reflects its bold and sophisticated approach. The vehicle's bumpers and lower graphic elements offer a more robust appearance, highlighting the Concept EV2's determined design and attractive personality.
The SUV's profile combines a sleek and firmly present exterior with a spacious cabin that enhances its premium appeal. The vertical front profile projects confidence and seamlessly connects with the rear section through a shoulder line that conveys technical sophistication. The robust fenders create a striking contrast with the geometric design of the glazed area and wheel arches, enhancing the vehicle's dynamic character. The Kia EV2 is expected to launch in Europe and other regions in 2026.
