Modernisation and professionalisation are the two key elements highlighted by the College of Physiotherapists of the Valencian Community during the celebration of its 25th anniversary. In the province of Alicante alone, the institution boasts over 2,500 registered physiotherapists, "a milestone that reflects the growth and professionalisation of the College," the entity asserts.

At the commemorative event held this Friday at the College in Alicante, the dean of the institution, Josep Benítez, acknowledged that "physiotherapy has evolved enormously over these 25 years, gaining recognition and presence in society. We have advanced in professionalisation, continuous training, and in providing citizens with access to quality treatments. However, the challenge remains the same: to work together to continue growing."

Patient Recognition

Since its inception on March 30, 2000, the ICOFCV highlights among its main achievements the recognition of physiotherapy by patients, positioning it as a "fundamental pillar" in the healthcare system, and the diversification of physiotherapeutic treatments, focusing on the specific needs of citizens based on their pathologies.

Furthermore, the College has taken a significant step in its modernisation and professionalisation as an institution, implementing new technologies to facilitate collegiate management and address cases of malpractice. Additionally, it has committed to continuous training, ensuring that physiotherapists are always at the forefront of knowledge and technology to provide the best care to citizens.

"The growth of the ICOFCV is not only reflected in the number of members but also in the quality of the services we offer. Our commitment is to continue innovating to improve patient care and strengthen the profession. For this, the involvement of the members is essential. If we want to continue growing as a profession, we must not only focus on our private activities but also work together," concluded Benítez.
