Collapse of a Building Floor in Seville Leaves Several Injured and Trapped

The La Plata industrial estate, located in Camas (Seville) and separating this town from the urban area of Santiponce, was the scene of a serious accident on Friday afternoon when a floor of a building under construction, presumably a warehouse, collapsed.

Sources from the unified emergency service 112 of Andalusia reported that the accident occurred around 1:45 p.m., with the collapse of a floor of a building under construction, presumably a warehouse, leaving several people injured and trapped under the rubble.

Units from the National Police and the local police forces of Camas, Santiponce, and Valencina de la Concepción, as well as firefighters and the 061 emergency service, were mobilised.

Firefighters report at least seven people affected, noting that the building involved in the incident is dedicated to the manufacture of panels, with fire stations from Santiponce and Sanlúcar la Mayor currently intervening.
