With the word 'haizea' - wind in Basque - the new collection from Basque brand SKFK is born. The original starting point of this proposal is the use of vintage windsurf sails from the 80s, which have been transformed through their reuse, embracing a creative challenge and reinforcing their environmental commitment. Through this, the brand has been inspired by concepts such as movement and the ability to build from it.
The new SKFK proposal, which holds GOTS certification and was the first fashion brand in Spain to be Fair Trade certified, is a "tribute to an era of rebellion and color of the 80s and windsurfing" for next summer, explains its creative director. Thus, through each garment that forms it, viewed globally, it offers urban day-to-day clothing designed with a sporty touch for a street look, demonstrating that it is possible to create prêt-à-porter garments from design, creativity, and art while reaffirming their ability to develop unique pieces.
Each model is much more than a simple fashion item; it is a statement of commitment to sustainability and innovation in design. They have reinterpreted these recovered materials, capturing the vibrant spirit of the 80s and renewing it with a modern touch and their characteristic use of color blocking and geometry.
To further enrich this proposal, the brand has invited other designers and young talents from Euskadi to join this project. Among them are emerging designers from BIAAF Marta Reparaz, Oier Gil, and Ane Sánchez, as well as designers Mónica Lavandera, Tytti Thursberg, Morgane Venitz, and Erika Sanmamed.
Teva, known for its iconic sandals, has partnered with SKFK to customize footwear for the show with small pieces made from recycled tire dust charms, a combination that will be perfect for lovers of unique, sustainable designs crafted in an artisanal way for an eternal summer.
