Classical Theatre, Dance, Musicals, and Monologues to Headline Castelar's Season Until Year's End

Councillor for Theatre in Elda, Rosa Vidal, announced this Friday the programme for the second half of the year, commencing in September and extending until 4th January 2026. The Castelar programme offers something for everyone, featuring theatrical performances, dance, musicals, and monologues, along with the amateur theatre festival 'Escena Elda', scheduled from 11th to 26th October.

Rosa Vidal explained that "it is a broad and varied programme, and of course, the quality of the shows. We will also have other activities in collaboration with entities, associations, collectives, and other departments, totalling 28 proposals." The first semester attracted a total of 14,611 spectators with 42 shows and activities, she detailed.

The councillor noted that the programme's structure remains based on the genre of the show: 'Pisando tablas' (theatre), 'Rimando huellas' (music), 'Cálzate un chiste' (humour and monologues), 'Tacón y puntas' (dance), and 'Pasto a paso' (family and children's shows). "We are also maintaining the discounts introduced in the first semester for large families, students, youth cardholders, and those over 65. Additionally, we will promote a newsletter that we have already created so that anyone interested can receive all the information via email," the councillor indicated.

Performances included in the programme from September are:

• 14th September, 'Galdós y el juicio final' (theatre).

• 20th September, 'Abba. The New Experience' (musical).

• 3rd October, 'Horizontes y sueños' (International Guitar Days).

• 4th October, 'La vida es breve' (dance).

• 5th October, 'El raro de los 90s' (monologue).

• 10th October, 'En los ojos de nadie' (theatre).

• 11th to 26th October, XX Amateur Theatre Festival 'Escena Elda' (theatre).

• 2nd November, 'Réquiem' (classical music concert).

• 9th November, 'Madre mía' (monologue).

• 15th November, 'Caperucita en Manhattan' (theatre).

• 30th November, 'Romeo y Julieta' (children's show).

• 13th December, 'Dramas y comedias. Regreso a los 80' (musical).

• 26th December, 'El Cascanueces' (dance).

• 4th January, 'La ratita presumida' (children's musical).
