100 years ago, on September 29, 1929, a festival was held in honor of the Virgen de la Salud in Crevillent, according to Municipal Archivist Bibiana Candela. The Clara Campoamor Municipal Archive has chosen to remember the festivities from a century ago.

The festivity, one of the most popular in the locality, began in 1902. In that year of 1929, musical evenings were organized for three days, featuring La Filarmónica, "where the dulzaina for three consecutive days kept that neighborhood lively and bustling, culminating with a beautiful and artistic fireworks display that left the residents satisfied." The following year, it was moved to mid-October, after the feast of the patron saint San Francisco de Asís, and included dulzaina, games, and music, as noted by the Town Hall.

After that year, the Brotherhood began a donation campaign to build a new chapel to house the image, but it wasn't until 1950 that it could be realized, under the guidance of José Mas Caiuela. Today, the festivity has extended beyond the neighborhood, and the image is venerated by the entire town.
