The Plenary Hall of the Elche City Council was the venue for the swearing-in ceremony of 18 new civil servants, resulting from the stabilization process of interim employees. With these incorporations, the total number of stabilized workers rises to 184, with 222 still to be stabilized. The goal is to achieve 100% stabilization before the end of 2024.

The ceremony, presided over by Mayor Pablo Ruz and the Human Resources Councilor Juan de Dios Navarro, included the oath or promise of office by two coordinating directors of Nursery Schools, two teachers, and nine specialist technicians in Early Childhood Education, who provide their services at the Elche City Council. Additionally, a group of six specialist technicians in Early Childhood Education who achieved stabilization in 2022 also took their oaths.

The event concluded with remarks from the mayor, who expressed gratitude for their work at the City Council. "Many of you have been waiting for this moment for years. This is our job, to return stability after years of dedication." He also highlighted the role of municipal nursery schools as "responsible for educating future generations."

Other Positions Offered in 2024

It is worth mentioning that last March, the city council launched a new public employment call with several significant offers. Among them were 31 positions for Local Police, of which 21 are open call and 10 are for mobility, including two for the position of Superintendent. This measure aims to address the deficit of officers who retired in 2023, as explained by Human Resources Councilor José Navarro at the time.

Regarding inclusion, it was also mentioned that nine positions would be allocated for people with disabilities, distributed across different areas of the City Council. Of these, two will be for school porter positions and five for administrative staff. The reservation of positions for people with disabilities not only meets the legal minimum but has been expanded to almost 10%.

Finally, it was announced that there would be 11 open call administrative positions, a demand from various council departments that had not been addressed in the past 15 years. These initiatives reflect the municipal government's commitment to inclusion and improving public services.
