The Civil Guard Searches for Attacker in Torrevieja Who Stabbed a Woman at Her Home's Entrance

The Civil Guard is searching in Torrevieja for an assailant who injured a woman last Sunday at the entrance of her home, near the Torrevieja bus station, according to investigation sources. The 58-year-old victim was inside the hallway at the time of the attack when the alleged perpetrator assaulted her, inflicting several cuts during the struggle, including an open wound with a knife in the abdominal area.

The incident occurred on June 29th around 6 p.m., when the 58-year-old victim was attacked in the entrance of a street near the bus station. After the assault, the alleged perpetrator fled, and the woman had to be attended to by medical services, as well as the Civil Guard, who arrived at the scene.

Currently, the Civil Guard is searching for the assailant, although initially "it is not considered a case of gender violence," according to the same sources.

During the struggle in the assault, the woman was injured with a knife in the abdominal area. Due to this cut, an open wound in the belly, she had to be transported to Torrevieja Hospital around 6:20 p.m. by a Basic Life Support unit. After receiving the necessary care, the woman was moved to a ward, where she remains out of danger.

Sources close to the injured woman indicate to TodoAlicante that the stabbing occurred "in an attempted robbery" within the entrance itself. In fact, the struggle left the woman, apart from the open wound in the abdomen, "with cuts on her back and scratches."

It was at that moment that the events were reported to the Civil Guard and the Health Services. In fact, the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (Cicu) reports that a Basic Life Support ambulance arrived at the scene, transporting her to the local hospital, where she remains admitted to a ward and out of danger.

Pending the victim's statement, the Civil Guard suggests that "initially it is not considered a case of gender violence," although the Civil Guard continues to investigate the incident to clarify the facts and locate the alleged assailant.
