The Civil Guard has dismantled a criminal group consisting of six Spanish citizens involved in a violent robbery carried out in December 2024 in a home in San Fulgencio. Three of those arrested have been placed in provisional detention by court order, according to the Armed Institute.
The investigation began on December 18, 2024, by the Property Crimes Team of the Civil Guard's Judicial Police Unit in Alicante, following a report from a woman who was assaulted in her home by several hooded individuals. The victim caught the assailants tampering with the electrical panel in her garage. Upon being discovered, they pounced on her, knocked her down, and covered her mouth to prevent her from calling for help, injuring her face, chin, and head.
Thanks to the collaboration of several witnesses and the analysis of evidence gathered by investigators, officers located a suspicious vehicle related to the incident, which had been involved in an incident with the Local Police of Guardamar del Segura hours before the crime, fleeing during a security operation.
The tracking of these clues led to the identification of a group based in the province of Almería, dedicated to property crimes, and it was also discovered that one of those involved had already been in prison since last January for similar offenses.
Finally, the officers executed the operation with a house search in the municipality of Pulpí (Almería), where part of the clothing used during the assault and the block of a firearm were found. The entry into the home and the arrests were carried out with the support of the Citizen Security Unit (Usecic) of the Almería Command.
The six arrested, five men and one woman, aged between 22 and 48, who are charged with crimes of belonging to a criminal group, robbery with violence, and injuries, were brought before the court, which ordered provisional detention for three of them, while the other three were released with precautionary measures, according to the Civil Guard.
