Where I said 'say', I now say 'do'. It seems that the Intercity-Hércules match on May 17th will not take place at the Rico Pérez, as previously assured by the club led by Salva Martí. The works cited by Intercity to request a change of stadium will finally be completed before April 25th following the intervention of the Alicante City Council. The Council was the first to be surprised by Intercity's announcement, attempted to refute it in every way, and has finally advanced the works (in the stands and benches). Moreover, on Monday, it will notify the Federation that these renovations will be completed on time, making it unnecessary for Intercity's matches against Hércules and Murcia to be played at Rico Pérez.

Barring any surprises, the Federation will once again designate Antonio Solana as the venue for these two matches, a decision that disadvantages Intercity (which will not generate as much revenue due to Villafranqueza's smaller capacity), as well as Hércules and Real Murcia, two historic clubs that attract thousands of fans each week, especially if they have real chances of promotion, as is the case.

"The Alicante City Council has reached an agreement with the company awarded the contract to complete the maintenance work at the Antonio Solana municipal sports complex during the week of April 21st. This work includes the replacement of 500 seats and the installation of two benches. These actions can be completed in approximately four days, allowing Intercity to play the scheduled matches in May at this municipal facility provided by the City Council without needing to request a change of stadium, as they will be able to conduct both training and competitive matches normally and without any issues," reads the Council's statement.

"The City Council will officially communicate this agreement next Monday, through the Department of Sports, to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Intercity Football Club, which uses the Villafranqueza facilities and which will be perfectly available to host the First Federation group 2 league matches scheduled for May," the municipal statement adds.

"By virtue of this agreement with the contractor to expedite the work, Intercity will be able to conduct its preparatory training and competitive matches at this municipal facility without interruption or the need to request a change of venue," concludes the City Council's statement.
