Councillor for Theatre, Rosa Vidal, presented this morning the Christmas programme for the Castelar Theatre, featuring children's shows and comedy. The first show, 'You Are Wonderful', a comedy by Miki Dkai, will take place on December 5th at 9:00 PM, right after the Christmas lights are turned on. This comedy, with Andalusian touches, offers a humorous take on the life of a father surrounded by four women, as described by the councillor.
The second event is scheduled for December 14th at 6:00 PM, with 'Peter Pan, a Very Special Musical'. This family classic is now an integration project that, for the first time in Spain, combines professional musical actors with professional actors with intellectual disabilities.
Flying, making dreams come true, enjoying an endless game... That's 'Peter Pan, a Very Special Musical'. An adventure in Neverland where fun is guaranteed.
The show features a colourful set, puppets, incredible visual effects, and great musical numbers ranging from pop to soul, offering a twist on the classic tale aimed at entertaining, moving, and educating both young and old.
On December 19th at 9:00 PM, 'Cádiz', a play written by local Fran Nortes, who also stars in it, and directed by Gabriel Olivares, will be performed. It's a comedy about the challenges of growing up and the importance of friends, even when they drive you crazy.
'Cádiz' tells the story of friends who are like family: Eugenio, Adrián, and Miguel have known each other since childhood but have grown apart. Eugenio thinks about the future, Adrián lives in the present, and Miguel dwells in the past. At 40, none of them have matured enough to understand that friends are not those who see things the same way, but those who accept each other despite their different worldviews.

On December 28th, it's time for 'Don Juan Tenorio or Two Tubes a Real', an adaptation of José Zorrilla's work by local author Emilio Rico Albert, filled with humour, charm, and critique, with a strong local flavour. It will be performed in two sessions, at 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
Finally, on January 4th at 6:00 PM, 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier' arrives, a fun and dynamic show where magic unfolds before the audience's eyes. Black theatre blends with the magic of puppets using the Japanese 'bunraku' technique and the illusion of shadow theatre to bring Hans Christian Andersen's famous tale to life as never seen before.
The performance has a charitable purpose, as anyone donating a new or gently used toy, preferably with educational content, will receive two tickets. The toys will be collected by the ISAE Table institutions.
Rosa Vidal encouraged all Elda residents "to visit the Castelar Theatre and enjoy one of the many varied and interesting shows on offer, catering to all audiences during this special time of year."
