With summer comes one of the great classics: the festivities of the urbanisations. The Alicante City Council has already established the calendar for these celebrations, dividing them according to neighbourhoods and areas.
The Urban Planning Department has published the decree informing communities of property owners about the festival calendar in Alicante's urbanisations, so they can submit applications for approval.
The municipal document states that these summer festivals can be held in private urbanisations, with a schedule set to ensure harmony among residents of different areas.
Thus, the festivities will take place first in the beach areas of Alicante: Albufereta, Cabo de la Huerta, and San Juan beach; from 10 a.m. on Friday, August 15, until 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 17.
With a weekend of rest in between, the festivities in the private urbanisations of the rest of Alicante's neighbourhoods will continue from 10 a.m. on Friday, August 29, until 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 31.
However, despite the broad schedule allowing for celebrations, there are sound restrictions. In the case of musical installations, their operation is permitted between 10 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. at the latest.
Additionally, the maximum authorised sound level for musical installations is 90 decibels.
Furthermore, the Alicante City Council states that the firing of fireworks "must comply with the prescriptions established in the municipal ordinance regulating them."
Also, in the case of inflatable attractions, property owner communities must notify the City Council of their installation in advance, "ensuring all documentation related to their assembly is in order, as well as the required certificates and insurance."
