Charlene of Monaco has given a revealing interview in which she reflects on her life as a mother, her past as an Olympic athlete, and the challenges she faces at 46. Known for her discretion, the princess broke her silence for the French media outlet 'Gala', sharing personal and professional details that have shaped her journey.
Charlene recalled her time as a professional swimmer, highlighting that swimming "occupied all my time" in her youth, leading her to compete in the Sydney 2000 Olympics. "I was above all an athlete. I trained to push my limits, but today my body says no," she confessed, although she maintains habits like walking and moderate swimming. In this regard, she is still trying to come to terms with her physical limits after the health issues she has faced, which prevent her from doing as much sport as she would like. Nevertheless, she promotes sports projects through her foundation, allowing her to remain somewhat connected to her passion.
Among her confessions, Charlene also spoke about her role as a mother to twins Jacques and Gabriella and how she sees them growing and developing as individuals. "Jacques is reserved and calm, while Gabriella is outgoing and curious," she detailed. Furthermore, the princess emphasized her protective approach towards the children, being very aware of the roles they will assume in the future, a path she herself has walked, transitioning from an Olympic swimmer to a Monegasque princess.
