The Alicante City Council has handed over cheques from the proceeds of the charitable bars set up during the New Year's Eve 2024 and Carnival 2025 celebrations to the associations Alinur, APSA, and Jorge Talavera Foundation. The Councillors for Festivities, Cristina Cutanda, and Commerce, Lidia López, along with the President of the Association of Restaurants and Leisure Venues of Alicante -Alroa-, Javier Galdeano, and members of the municipal corporation, welcomed the social entities at an event held this Friday in the Blue Hall of the Town Hall. This initiative managed to raise 7,299 euros this edition. Each entity received a charitable cheque of 2,433 euros to carry out social projects.

The Councillor for Festivities congratulated the beneficiary associations, emphasizing that "we hope that with this small contribution we can continue improving the health of those who need it most and thank you for your altruistic social work."

The charitable bars have been successfully held in the city for eleven years. They are organized in collaboration with the Alicante City Council and the Association of Restaurants and Leisure Venues of Alicante -Alroa- and Soho-Baviera. During the last New Year's Eve, a charitable bar was set up, and during this year's Sábado Ramblero celebration, two more were installed.

The Councillor for Hospitality also thanked Alroa for both their involvement and the organization of this charitable initiative, highlighting that "it has been many years of effort promoting the charitable bars, which is worthwhile so that this contribution adds to the daily lives of those who need it and those who work in these foundations and associations to make it more bearable and provide more tools." Lidia López also highlighted the solidarity of the people of Alicante, "we are very supportive whenever we are needed, we demonstrated it also during the Dana, and we will continue working to collaborate in this important action," she indicated.

After the speeches, the Councillors for Festivities and Hospitality handed over the cheques, which were received by Nito Manero, President of APSA; Leonor Martínez, President of Alinur; and Jorge Talavera, representing the foundation that bears his name.

For his part, the President of Alroa noted that organizing these bars means "being able to give visibility and thank, along with all our associates, the social entities for the immense work they do in the city," while valuing their work by highlighting that "they are the true protagonists in this event, and we are very proud and want to continue collaborating with these contributions." Galdeano also indicated that they will continue to seek ways to collaborate to increase the amounts raised and the number of beneficiary associations.

Leonor Martínez, President of Alinur, took the floor to "thank the initiative both to the Town Hall and Alroa, and to all the members of this association, both entrepreneurs and restaurants and leisure venues that always help us," and she emphasized that this is a "very beautiful initiative as they are all very supportive, and with this donation, they help us to continue and it is a recognition of our work to continue defending rights, inclusion, and above all to improve the quality of life of the people we represent."

Additionally, Nito Manero, President of APSA, explained that "this aid will be allocated to a scholarship for a child whose parents cannot afford it, we thank you, and next year we will tell you how his treatment went." Finally, Jorge Talavera emphasized that "Alroa's help is continuous and very necessary to continue working for the benefit of those who need it most."
