Students taking the University Entrance Exam in Alicante province will now be able to check their status on waiting lists and be called centrally, without relying on individual university calls. This was announced by the Department of Education on Tuesday, marking the first application of this measure, which aims to streamline the university enrolment process for students.
According to the regional secretary, Esther Gómez, "this innovation will ensure that students can confidently know their assigned place and have the peace of mind of knowing the dates for vacancy allocations in advance. Additionally, it will reduce bureaucratic procedures for universities and families." The process will be conducted through the online platform for pre-registration at public universities in the region.
Public universities in the region will open pre-registration from 16 June to 4 July 2025.
Gómez stated that this agreement was reached on Tuesday during the meeting of the university entrance exam management committee. "This innovation is the result of continuous and coordinated work with the five public universities in the Valencian Community over a year and a half," the regional secretary noted.
Pre-registration Calendar
Additionally, the regional secretary announced the pre-registration calendar for the 2025-2026 academic year at public universities and their affiliated centres for the first year of official undergraduate studies. The process will begin on 16 June and end at 2 pm on 4 July.
Thus, the results of the initial allocation of places will be published on 11 July, and students will have a few days to confirm whether they wish to remain on any or all waiting lists they are on. Students will only complete this process once.
From that point, there will be eight more allocations as a result of the joint management of waiting list movements, occurring on 18, 24, and 30 July; 4, 11, 18, and 25 September; and 2 October. Universities will enrol students in their degree programmes after each new allocation and record the data of vacant places for the resolution of the next allocation.
