The mourning declared for the victims of the Dana and the areas affected by this tragedy also reaches the Fira de Tots Sants in Cocentaina. The Town Hall has decided to include changes in the celebration of the 678th edition of this event.
The inauguration of the Fira de Tots Sants will have a solemn character in response to "the devastating effects of the Dana that, in recent days, has affected large areas of the Comunitat." It will be held on November 1st at 12 o'clock without its usual "festive component" as a sign of respect towards the people and communities affected by the catastrophe.
Additionally, during the start of the Fira de Tots Sants in Cocentaina, a minute of silence will be observed in memory of the mortal victims as a show of support to their families.

This modification brings with it the suppression of the festive parade, the authorities' tour, and the honor wine following the ceremony. Thus, the inauguration act will be limited to the reading of the Privilege from the balcony of the Palau Comtal, conducted by maestro Ignacio García Vidal, the interpretation of the Fira anthem, and the protocol inauguration by the confirmed authorities, "which at this moment are not yet known for certain."
Despite removing the "festive spirit" from the inaugural act of the Fira de Tots Sants and including a "significant austerity" in it, the event will maintain its programming "to offer visitors a rich experience in culture, gastronomy, and tradition," explain the organizers.
Regarding the applied changes, the mayor of Cocentaina, Jordi Pla, emphasizes that the decision "responds to our will to support the municipalities that have suffered the severe consequences of the torrential rains, as well as the security forces and emergency services that continue to work intensively in the affected areas."
The mayor also highlights that the Fira de Tots Sants "is much more than a festive event" and points out that the event is presented as an "expression of our identity as a people." Therefore, in this edition, they aim to turn it into a "symbol of solidarity and support towards those who are experiencing difficult times. We will always be by the side of those who need us."
From the organization, they also emphasize that the Fira de Tots Sants shows solidarity with the people affected by the DANA, while the Cocentaina Town Hall conveys a message of encouragement and support to the families who have suffered the consequences of this catastrophe.
