Paula Badosa faces a challenging debut at Wimbledon. The draw has set the Spaniard against the top British player and crowd favourite, Katie Boulter, for her opening match.

The match, scheduled on one of the main courts, either Centre or Court 1, as is customary with local players, will mark the second encounter between these two players, following Badosa's victory at Roland Garros 2024.

Badosa arrives at Wimbledon with some concerns, having withdrawn from the Berlin quarter-finals last week. The Spaniard returned to action in the German capital after Roland Garros, securing solid wins against Eva Lys and Emma Navarro, before experiencing a psoas issue and retiring in the second set against Xin Yu Wang. Frustrated by persistent physical issues that have hindered her regular competition for years, Badosa took out her frustration on her racket, repeatedly smashing it against the grass.

Her potential path at Wimbledon, where she reached the fourth round last season, includes Minnen in the second round, Donna Vekic in the third, Madison Keys in the fourth, Aryna Sabalenka or Elina Svitolina in the quarter-finals, Jasmine Paolini in the semi-finals, and she avoids Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, Mirra Andreeva, and Elena Rybakina until the final.

The women's draw will feature two other Spaniards, after Marina Bassols, Nuria Párrizas, and Leyre Romero fell in the second round of qualifying and have no chance of entering as 'lucky losers'. Jessica Bouzas, who reached the third round last year, will face Germany's Ella Seidel, who advanced through qualifying, while Bucsa will play against Romania's Anca Todoni.
