Caught in Sax with a Garbage Bag Containing Five Kilos of Marijuana Hidden in Their Car

The Civil Guard has arrested three men aged 39, 44, and 51, all Spanish nationals, in Sax for an alleged crime against public health after discovering more than five kilos of marijuana hidden in a garbage bag in their vehicle. The marijuana, in buds, was already prepared for distribution.

The incident occurred when a patrol from the Sax Post was conducting a preventive check in an area under special surveillance due to nearby houses that had raised suspicions among the officers. While identifying the occupants of a van, the officers detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, prompting an inspection, according to sources from the operation.

To the officers' surprise, they found nearly six kilos of marijuana hidden in a garbage bag in the back of the vehicle. This contained marijuana buds, weighing approximately 5.5 kilograms.

Furthermore, after the necessary checks, investigators confirmed that the vehicle's driver had been reported months earlier for similar acts, reinforcing the repeat offender profile in such activities.

The three involved have been arrested for an alleged drug trafficking offense and subsequently brought before the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Villena.
