National Police have arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly trafficking drugs. The man, who was already under surveillance by the security forces, was caught receiving a package containing nearly half a kilo of cocaine from a vehicle. Despite attempting to flee when officers stopped him, they managed to catch and arrest him.
According to the National Police, on the day of the arrest, officers from the Dénia Citizen Security Brigade observed the man receiving a package from a car. Knowing that this individual was allegedly involved in drug trafficking, the officers quickly intervened.
At that moment, the man attempted to escape on foot, but he was unable to evade the police, who eventually caught up with him, despite his resistance during the arrest. Upon inspecting the package, officers confirmed it was filled with drugs.
The bag contained a total of 475 grams of cocaine, leading to the arrest of the 34-year-old man for the alleged crime of drug trafficking. Police sources indicate that the investigation remains open to identify other participants in this crime.
The detainee, aged 34, has been brought before the Denia Magistrate's Court on duty after the completion of police procedures.
