During a checkpoint, the Civil Guard arrested two individuals, a 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman of Colombian nationality, for carrying over a kilo of cocaine hidden in their car. During the vehicle inspection, the officers found a package containing 1.15 kilos of this drug, as well as two glass jars with 6.67 grams of 'tussi'.
The incident occurred at the end of January during an operation conducted by the Civil Guard of Torrevieja on the CV-998 road. There, the officers noticed the driver of a vehicle displaying a nervous and evasive attitude upon noticing the checkpoint, attempting to avoid it.
Upon observing the behaviour of both occupants and their manoeuvres, the investigators proceeded to stop the vehicle and inspect the interior, where they found 1.149 kg of cocaine and two glass jars containing 6.67 grams of pink cocaine.
Following this intervention, the Civil Guard arrested the two vehicle occupants. The officers seized the drugs and 140 euros in cash, which have been submitted to the judicial authorities along with the proceedings.
Finally, the detainees, charged with a drug trafficking offence, have been brought before the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Torrevieja, which has ordered the provisional imprisonment of the man and the release of the woman, with the imposition of precautionary measures.
