Carolina Marín, one of Spain's most outstanding athletes; Isabel Allende, the world's most widely read Spanish-language author; and Filipino journalist and 2021 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, María Ressa, will be among the prominent participants of Santander WomenNOW, the international summit on female leadership held annually in Spain since 2019, organized by Vocento and Mujerhoy.

The seventh edition of the congress, scheduled for June 18 and 19, will also feature Spanish former dancer and choreographer Tamara Rojo, currently the artistic director of the San Francisco Ballet; Eleni Myrivili, the UN's global Heat Chief and expert in preparing cities to withstand extreme heat waves; and American singer Sophie Auster.

Established as Europe's most significant congress on female leadership and under the theme 'Leaders Facing the Global Challenge', the seventh edition of the summit will once again be an ambitious forum for debate among global professional leaders from all fields. From activism and the defense of human rights and democratic values to artistic creation, business management, elite sports, or scientific and technological innovation.

Director of Nature

Organized into three sessions alternating interviews and conversations with lectures and panel discussions, this global forum will also feature the Finnish ambassador to Spain, Sari Rautio; the director of the scientific journal Nature, Magdalena Skipper; the esteemed lawyer Miriam González, founder of initiatives such as Spain Better and Inspiring Girls; Macarena Rey, CEO of Shine Iberia and producer of successful TV formats like Masterchef and Maestros de la costura; and Teresa Sanjurjo, director of the Princess of Asturias Foundation.

The event is enriched by the presence of marine scientist, conservationist, and explorer Gádor Muntaner; biochemistry and molecular biology professor and science communicator Carlos López-Otín; political scientist, lawyer, and rare disease awareness activist Noah Higón; and MIT PhD in artificial intelligence Nuria Oliver. Additionally, Alaska and Manuel Segade, director of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, will share a conversation on the power of art, and content creator Marina Rivers will discuss communication codes of younger generations with writer Joana Marcús.

The sessions will also include Iberia's client director, Beatriz Guillén; Evolus CEO María Cudeiro; and Dora Casal, CEO of Roberto Verino, who will share a roundtable discussion on the leadership of the future.

Santander WomenNOW is the international summit that has hosted over 200 leading speakers and surpassed three million views of its conferences, interviews, lectures, and panel discussions. Queen Letizia has chaired the congress's honorary committee since its inception.

It is supported by Banco Santander as a 'global partner' and sponsored by Evolus, Iberia, Multiópticas, L'Oréal Paris, and Roberto Verino. Sessions can be attended in person at the El Beatriz auditorium in Madrid and will be streamed live on mujerhoy.com and Vocento newspapers, including abc.es, elcorreo.com, diariovasco.com, lasprovincias.es, and diariosur.es. To attend in person or access the streaming, free registration is open on the congress website congreso.womennow.es.
