Carlos Alcaraz advances to the quarterfinals in Melbourne following Jack Draper's withdrawal, who only lasted an hour and a half in the match. He now awaits the winner of the Djokovic vs Lehecka match.

The clash between Carlos Alcaraz and Jack Draper (7-5, 6-1) started off unevenly. At least, that was what the statistics of hours spent on court before reaching the fourth round suggested.

The Briton had spent double the time. 12 hours and 34 minutes compared to 6 hours and 17 minutes. Exactly double. Draper had struggled to reach this stage. He played 15 sets to overcome Mariano Navone, Thanasi Kokkinakis, and Aleksandar Vukic. This was his path to reach the highest point at Melbourne Park.

It was in the second set when Draper's body gave in. He barely put up a fight during the second set, which ended 6-1 in favor of Alcaraz. He now awaits his opponent for Tuesday.

The Murcian tennis player will watch the match between Novak Djokovic and Jiri Lehecka from his hotel, from which his quarterfinal opponent will emerge.
