Pedro Bigas will remain a fixture at Elche for some time. The captain has automatically extended his contract by another year, until June 2026, after fulfilling the clause of playing 25 matches this season. The Balearic defender, who turns 35 next month, has reaffirmed his importance this season as a crucial player in Eder Sarabia's plans, proving that age is just a number when a footballer takes care of himself.

Bigas joined Elche in the 21-22 season from Eibar and has since been virtually untouchable for all coaches. He is now enjoying his experience, providing security to the defence, acting as a leader in the dressing room, and is focused on returning the team to the top tier.

Bigas developed in the youth ranks of Mallorca and has over 200 La Liga appearances to his name, spread across Mallorca, Elche, Eibar, and UD Las Palmas.

Meanwhile, forward Óscar Plano, another key figure in the Elche dressing room, stated that the team, leading the competition with eleven matches remaining, can be expected "to achieve promotion." He also affirmed that the squad is "fighting" to reach this goal.

The player stated, in comments to the club's media, that he usually does not "look at the standings" and will only do so "when Elche is in La Liga." "I prefer to take it match by match," said the attacker, who urged the team to move on from the last victory and focus on the upcoming match against Racing de Ferrol. The Madrid-born player praised the contribution of substitute players, highlighting that when they come onto the pitch, "they solve matches."

The forward, who scored a goal in the last match in Córdoba (1-2), praised the impact of Josan and especially Elbasan Rashani, who scored another decisive goal in the final minutes of the match.

Regarding the match against the Galician team, Óscar Plano urged fans to support the team despite it being a workday and the timing (Monday at 20:30). "They score the first goal. It's a challenging schedule, but I have no doubt they will come and help us secure the three points," Óscar Plano concluded.
