The Hércules coach Rubén Torrecilla has used 18 players at the start of the League, and the only two outfield players who haven't had minutes are the young defenders Rubén Cantero and Abraham del Moral. Goalkeeper Nando Almodóvar hasn't debuted either, and it will be very difficult for him to get minutes from a Carlos Abad in great form.

Both Cantero and Del Moral arrived this summer as free agents after their time at Barcelona and Villarreal, respectively. They are players with great potential, and Torrecilla believes that despite their youth, they are ready to compete in Primera RFEF, although it won't be easy due to the competition in their positions.

Cantero, 20 years old, played 32 matches last season in Segunda RFEF with Calahorra and is currently the fourth central defender for the white-and-blue coach, as he has Montoro, Sotillos, and Josema ahead of him in that order. The muscle injuries of Samu Vázquez and Alvarito, the two players expected to occupy the right-back position, caused Sotillos to move to the right flank, opening the door for Josema or Cantero. Torrecilla opted for the veteran player, so Cantero will need to be patient and wait for his opportunity.

The case of Abraham del Moral is special since he was signed as a central defender from Villarreal B but will have to play the role of left-back because Hércules decided to go for Cantero when he became available. Thus, Del Moral is expected to compete for the starting position with Retu, but his physical condition is precarious. He underwent surgery in May and did not participate in preseason. In his first weeks with Hércules, he tried to accelerate and increase intensity but suffered a muscle injury from which he has now recovered. He sat on the bench against Real Murcia and is ready to debut.

Hércules visits Castilla coached by Raúl González this Saturday, a particularly dangerous team because they have deserved more points at the start of this league but haven't managed to win yet, so they face this match with urgency.

Torrecilla won't be able to count on injured players Samu Vázquez, Alvarito, and José Artiles, and it is highly unlikely that any of them will make it in time for the match at Rico Pérez against Antequera (October 6 at 19:30), as they will start ball training next week at best.
