The Candidate Parade Changes Venue to Rico Pérez Stadium

The Rico Pérez Stadium is swapping football boots for high heels. The home of Hércules CF will host the candidate galas for the Bellea del Foc next April. The stadium will serve as a runway for the aspirants to the highest position in the Alicante Hogueras to showcase their dresses.

This Wednesday, the Federació de les Fogueres de Sant Joan announced this change in the event location, which will take place on April 25 and 26, with the children's and adult galas respectively.

This marks the second consecutive year of venue changes, as last year the parade was held at the Alicante bullring after its previous outing at the city's port, a decision influenced by post-pandemic capacity and safety measures.

Regarding this new milestone in the history of the Alicante Hogueras and the José Rico Pérez Stadium, the president of the Federació, David Olivares, emphasized that the candidate gala "will be something completely different," at the request of the committees.

"There will be a show unlike what we are used to, but we are confident it will please the foguerers and barraquers," he said about the events in April.

The capacity for the candidate parade for the Bellea del Foc in Alicante will be 6,000 people, with free entry to each of the galas.

This change is part of the collaboration agreements between the Federació de les Fogueres de Sant Joan and Hércules CF, a club that "has provided us with every facility possible." This move "strengthens" the relationship between the two entities.
