El "Canary" Álvarez is back in Elche after a bittersweet experience with Uruguay. The forward was thrilled to receive a call from coach Marcelo Bielsa, but the reality was complex, as the veteran coach had summoned 38 players, making playing time extremely scarce. As it turned out, Álvarez was not selected for the match against Argentina and remained on the bench against Bolivia, with Bielsa not opting to use him. He has returned to Elche without having had any opportunities.

The "Canary" is now training under Sarabia's orders after missing the match against Eldense and is aiming for the starting eleven against Córdoba this coming Sunday (14:00 hours). Álvarez, on loan at Elche from Sassuolo, has scored eight goals and is regaining the form he lost last season due to a serious knee injury.

Meanwhile, over 400 Elche fans have purchased tickets for this Sunday's match. Four buses will facilitate the fans' travel with the club's support, which has contributed 10 euros per fan towards the cost. From this Thursday, each fan will receive their ticket and bus pass via email.

Lastly, around 8,000 fans from 25 municipalities in the Vega Baja attended the Martínez Valero stadium during the 'Captains of Vega Baja' campaign, aimed at bringing the Elche team closer to the towns of this Alicante region.

During eight matches, fans from these municipalities and their sports clubs enjoyed special discounts on tickets for Elche's home games and additional promotions.

In each of these matches, Elche's captain wore an armband with the names of the invited municipalities, a symbolic gesture that, according to the club's official statement, "has strengthened the bond between the club and the region."

The municipalities participating in this campaign were Albatera, Algorfa, Almoradí, Benejúzar, Benijófar, Bigastro, Callosa de Segura, Catral, Cox, Daya Nueva, Daya Vieja, Dolores, Formentera del Segura, Granja de Rocamora, Guardamar del Segura, Jacarilla, Los Montesinos, Pilar de la Horadada, Rafal, Redován, Rojales, San Fulgencio, San Isidro, San Miguel de Salinas, and Torrevieja.
