Bull Dies During 'Bous a la Mar' in Xàbia

The 'bous a la mar' festivities in Xàbia ended tragically this Saturday at noon with the death of a bull. According to reports, the bull jumped into the water, as is customary in this event, but collapsed almost immediately upon returning to land. The animal rights group Dénia Animal Save has organized a protest for this Sunday in response to the animal's death.

During the event, signatures will also be collected for the national initiative noesmicultura.org, which aims to remove protections for bullfighting. The group encourages everyone to sign in their nearest area if they are unable to attend.
