Third round between El Hormiguero and La Revuelta. The first was won by Pablo Motos, the second by a narrow margin by Broncano, and the third saw La1's program widen its lead over Antena 3. On Tuesday's show, Trancas and Barrancas won in total viewers. This Wednesday, everything goes to Broncano: viewers, golden minute, and share.
In its latest broadcast, 'La Revuelta' attracted, according to Barlovento Comunicación data, 5.8 million viewers who at some point tuned into La1 of TVE to watch Broncano's team, which featured guests Juan José Millás and Juan Luis Arsuaga. "You're like motorcycles," joked the Spanish paleoanthropologist upon entering the stage at Madrid's Príncipe Gran Vía Theater where the show is recorded. Its competitor in the 'access prime time' slot, the only one after the cancellation of Babylon Show on Telecinco, reached 5.1 million viewers who connected at some point during the night with Atresmedia's veteran program.
In their direct competition between 21:51 and 22:55 when both were on air simultaneously, the previous day's tenth-of-a-point lead expanded to nearly four share points: 20.5% for 'La Revuelta' and 16.8% for Motos.
These figures confirm and seem to consolidate the overtaking in the pre-prime time television slot in Spain after years of dominance by Motos, Trancas, and Barrancas. However, the season has just begun. "Broncano is the undisputed leader of the night," RTVE celebrates in a statement on its website.
The program also achieved the golden minute of the day at 22:17 hours with 2,831,000 viewers and a 21.3% share, compared to El Hormiguero's 2,257,000 viewers and an 18.2% share.
The show leads for the first time among both men (20.6%) and women (19.3%) and once again dominates all age groups from 4 to 64 years old. It stands out particularly in the 25 to 44 age group with a 34.2% share, followed by young people aged 13 to 24 with a 33.3% share.
Additionally, 'La Revuelta' leads in seven communities: Madrid (31.2%), Valencian Community (29.1%), Basque Country (26.5%), Asturias (21.2%), Galicia (19%), Navarre (18.6%), and Aragón (18.2%).
The ripple effect of this temporary television overtaking is also notably felt in broadcasts preceding these two programs more than those following them. The Broncano effect leaves its mark on TVE's Telediario 2, which improved its audience share by seven-tenths compared to Monday of the previous week.
This Wednesday, it raised Telediario 2's share to 13%, which is 2.9 points higher than seven days earlier. Thus, the nighttime newscast far exceeds La1's average (9.8% as of September 11), although it remains far from Antena 3's result, which reached a 19.1% share this Wednesday.
