The Bonfires of Alicante will have a seventh category

The Bonfires of Alicante expand their list of categories with the creation of a seventh adult section to "relieve" the small committees that are "struggling more" in terms of budgets. This measure was announced during Tuesday's assembly and will be implemented next June.

One of the conditions for this new seventh category is that a committee cannot remain in it for more than two consecutive years. Additionally, the scales have been presented, with the minimum budget for planting - adult bonfires - in this last adult section being 6,365 euros up to a maximum of 8,200.99 euros. The rest of the scales, except for the Special and first categories, have also changed.

There are also changes in the calendar of the Bonfires of Alicante. The president of the Federation stated during Tuesday's assembly that the festive agenda for the new term has undergone alterations, including the location of the proclamation of the "bellea del foc", both adult and child, and their dames d'honor.

The act of exaltation of the highest representatives of the Bonfires of Alicante will move out of the Main Theater of Alicante because its dates coincide with a reservation by a "major company" that will remain in the city's coliseum for "many dates". Therefore, the proclamation will be held in the Town Hall square.

The dates outlined in the advance schedule for this event are Friday, May 16 for the proclamation of the child "bellea del foc" and Saturday, May 17 for the exaltation of the highest adult representative. The election will be held on May 2 and 3.

Furthermore, the assembly approved with 135 votes in favor, 18 against, and four abstentions, the regulation for electing the "bellea del foc" and their dames d'honor, as well as for the jury.
