The Bonfires of Alicante Reveal All Dates for Pre-June Mascletàs

In the Bonfires festivities, there are many treasures. All of them remain guarded, like the most unconfessable secret, until the moment they deserve to be revealed aloud. Accustomed to unveiling the sketches of the Special category bonfires, the mascletàs have followed suit. At least, in the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle organized by the Federation.

If in recent years they have waited month by month to reveal all their details, it has been for the 2025 cycle when the Federation could not hide its eagerness for gunpowder, even though the rain came with the intention of doing so during this Friday night's celebration of Alicante's first pyrotechnic gala.

Despite the downpour, a ten-minute break and evacuation allowed the gala to continue and announce the awards for the best pyrotechnic show, which went to Pirotecnia Valenciana from Llanera de Llanes, and for the best pyrotechnic activity, which was divided into three awards: gold for Parque-Plaza de Galicia, silver for Florida Portazgo, and bronze for Pla del Bon Repòs-La Goteta.

After that, the president of the Federació de les Fogueres de Sant Joan, David Olivares, proceeded to unveil the locations of all the shows that make up the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle for 2025, which will kick off this Sunday near José Rico Pérez stadium, with bonfires and barracks from sector three, handled by the award-winning Pirotecnia Valenciana.

The gunpowder will continue with the New Year's Eve mascletà at Plaza Galicia on December 31 at 2 PM with bonfires and barracks from sector one. After this, there will be a third shot on February 2 on Avenida Ejércitos Españoles in Obra Social del Hogar district, sector four; next month on March 2 at Passeig de Gómiz, sector six. While April's shot will be held in the city chosen for gatherings, it will be on May 10 when shows return with a nighttime mascletà at Alicante Provincial Auditorium (Adda), sector seven.

Calle Polop in Gran Via-Garbinet will be the stage for the May 25 mascletà, sector five; while nighttime shows will return to the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle calendar on June 8 near Puerta de Alicante shopping center. As a finale and outside of the cycle, Gran Vía shopping center roundabout will host a show on June 15, one day before l'Arribada del foc at El Corte Inglés in Maisonnave.
