The Bonfires of Alicante Return with a 'Mascletà' this Sunday

A mere twelve hours will pass since the last shot in Galicia Square, when the Bonfires of Alicante prepare to launch a new 'mascletà' on Beniarbeig Street. This is part of the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle.

Alpujarreña Pyrotechnics is set to detonate the artillery on this street in Alicante, between Gran Vía and Vía Parque, at 2 PM this Sunday, 25th May.

As a prelude, the bonfires and barracks of sector five have organised a popular breakfast. The bars will open from noon with beer, soft drinks, tapas, and rice. Additionally, they will hold a raffle with prizes and music.

The bonfire commissions of this sector are: Bola de Oro, Bulevar del Pla-Garbinet, Carolinas Altas, Carolines Baixes, Doctor Bergez-Carolinas, Foguerer Carolinas, Gran Vía-Garbinet, Parque de las Avenidas, Pla-Hospital, Pla-Metal, Pla del Bon Repòs-La Goteta, Pío XII, Portuarios-Pla del Bon Repòs, and Sagrada Familia.

Likewise, sector five also includes the barracks Darrere de l'últim no ve ningú, Dit i fet, Els Carols, Ho tenim tot per fer, Ja no som tan xicotets, Les Palmeretes, Poquets però bons, Somnis de foc, Tard però acertat, Tot bacores, Tot per la festa, Tots Contents, and Al final ho fem.

This 'mascletà' on Beniarbeig Street will be the penultimate one in May. Two more shots are scheduled for the 30th and 31st. The last one will be nocturnal and in the Viña Square, as part of an evening event organised by this bonfire.

Only two 'mascletàs' remain to conclude this new edition of the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle before the official Luceros competition during the main days of the Bonfires of Alicante.

The gunpowder will return to the city's neighbourhoods next Sunday, 8th June at 2 PM near the Puerta de Alicante shopping centre, alongside the bonfires and barracks of sector two.

The last shot of the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle will be on 14th June, before the Entrance of Bands and Commissions, at the roundabout of the Gran Vía shopping centre. This 'mascletà' is out of competition.

The finale will be marked by the 'Arribada del foc' on 17th June at 11 PM at the façade of El Corte Inglés fashion, at the Estrella de Alicante roundabout.
