On Wednesday, the Bellea del Foc, Alba Muñoz, approached Their Majesties with the mantilla as her banner. King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia visited the Valencian Community's stand at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) in Madrid. There, the Alicante delegation awaited them, led by the city's official festivities: the Bonfires of Alicante.

The fire representative engaged in a brief conversation with Queen Letizia, greeting her warmly and exchanging a few words. During this short dialogue, Muñoz seized the chance to invite Their Majesties to enjoy the Bonfires. "We await you in Alicante," the Bellea del Foc conveyed to Queen Letizia.

During their conversation, Her Majesty showed interest in the Alicante bridal gown worn by the representatives of the Bonfires of Alicante. The Bellea del Foc lovingly explained to Queen Letizia the details of her mantilla and some secrets of her skirt - which in this case was a deep red with gold details and flowers. A brief conversation, yet one that was considered very close by those present.

There was also an opportunity for His Majesty, King Felipe VI, to converse with the President of the Federació de Fogueres, David Olivares. During the meeting, the King fondly recalled the Postiguet beach and the traditional Alicante saying 'the best little land in the world'. A brief encounter, but one in which Olivares did not miss the chance to mention to Their Majesties the upcoming centennial of the city's official festivities. On this occasion, the President of the Federació also extended an invitation to share the Bonfires with the people of Alicante, an offer he will officially make to the Royal Household.

The Bonfires will celebrate their hundredth anniversary in 2028. The Federation has already begun discussions on how to organize the event, although no concrete proposals have been made yet. One of the challenges the festival's governing body plans for this year is to achieve recognition as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
